Prerequisites
- AWS account
- EC2 instance with Amazon Linux 2 template
Install Podman on AWS EC2 Amazon Linux 2 instance
Step 1. Login and update the packages:
sudo yum update
Step 2. Execute the following command to add the Kubic project repo:
sudo curl -L -o /etc/yum.repos.d/devel:kubic:libcontainers:stable.repo https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/devel:/kubic:/libcontainers:/stable/CentOS_7/devel:kubic:libcontainers:stable.repo
Step 3. Install the yum corp plugin:
sudo yum install yum-plugin-copr
Step 4. Enable the SELinux policy for container runtimes:
sudo yum copr enable lsm5/container-selinux
Step 5. Install podman:
sudo yum install podman
Step 6. To verify the installation run:
podman version
